Finding My Voice - Nadiya Hussain
Described as a 'brave book', I was intrigued from the outset. With poems, recipes and anecdotes throughout this book was more than I could ever have expected. Well-written with the perfect balance of humour and wisdom, I put off plans just to finish this book! Nadia speaks so eloquently and her writing is no different. She has something important to say and I for one was listening.
Nadiya tells her story from the perspective go her different roles in life. be that as a mother, sister or wife etc. she shares her stories in a. warm and engaging manner. Almost as if she has transcribed a conversation with a friend about her life over coffee and cake.
Nadia appears to have it all but her memoir also highlights that the path to adulthood is not always straight and sometimes its those nearest and dearest to us that provide the obstacles. I had no idea that this would be an emotional read not only of personal discovery but also a reminder that we should not judge a book by its cover. I implore you to give this book a go. The rainy days are upon us so snuggle up with a book and devour it in one go. You won't regret it.
